This unique event, commemorating the life and legacy of Elie Wiesel, is scheduled for Thursday, September 29th at Lake Erie College from 6:30-8:30 PM and is open to students and the community. According to Andrea Farenga, LEC professor in charge of the event, “Our rationale includes the unfortunate realities that anti-Semitism is increasing, and students have not been taught about the Holocaust, which fuels the denier movement.”
The two hour event has three parts:
- First, a reader's theatre performance of the play, "The Trial of God."
- Second, there will be a video clip of Elie Wiesel.
- Finally, there will be a three-person panel of community members uniquely qualified to speak and answer questions about the Holocaust. Each individual will present for 15 minutes, after which audience members will be invited to ask questions. A Holocaust historian, the daughter of Holocaust Survivors and Ellen Jacob, V.P. of Kol Israel Foundation and Chair of Holocaust Education Outreach, will participate
